Why it surfacedEquiMap analyses 361 Greater Sydney communities and 335 fire stations, then weights coverage by factors including socioeconomic profile, age, First Nations communities, and remoteness. Its central finding is enjoyably counterintuitive: in this demonstration, the largest gaps sit on the premium semi-rural fringe rather than in the inner-city areas many models might assume are underserved.
