CARA is a free, open-source desktop application for analyzing, reviewing, organizing, and improving chess games.

Why it surfaced

This is a serious chess tool rather than a simple board viewer: it supports multiple UCI engines, game summaries, piece-trajectory exploration, bulk analysis, searchable databases, and optional AI summaries from OpenAI, Anthropic, or custom endpoints. The project provides bundles for Windows, macOS, and Linux, along with a manual, source code, release notes, and a companion iOS voice recorder for over-the-board games.
