Batata is an experimental compiler that lowers a practical slice of Elixir through MLIR and LLVM into native code, with a Zig runtime.

Why it surfaced

The site makes the whole pipeline legible, from Elixir syntax through its ex dialect and LLVM representation to a native artifact. It is unusually candid about its boundaries: JIT execution and AOT archives work, while full Elixir semantics, OTP compatibility, and stable package installation remain explicitly unfinished.
