SoundKitten is a free, open-source SoundCloud app for Windows, macOS, and Linux, built for streaming likes and playlists without the usual browser-tab bloat.

Why it surfaced

The project draws unusually clear boundaries: it is built in Rust with Tauri, stores sessions in the operating system keychain, and deliberately supports streaming only—no downloads, exports, or audio hoarding. Its FAQ even explains locked tracks, login safety, and SoundCloud affiliation, while the source is available for anyone who wants to build the app themselves.
