Finestra puts a Linux desktop in a browser tab, letting operators reach a headless server’s terminal, files, system manager, and native GUI applications.

Why it surfaced

This is a concrete answer to an awkward server-room problem: it listens only on 127.0.0.1 and travels through an existing SSH tunnel, while exposing a real PTY, live system data, and Linux applications rendered through a browser window. The installer also checks its SHA-256, preserves settings during upgrades, and refuses unsupported Ubuntu versions rather than failing later.
