A single style of high-waisted shorts, cut and sewn by Lesley Jolly in Oregon from small-batch and vintage fabrics.

Why it surfaced

Mom Shorts gives scarcity a practical reason: Lesley makes only 24 pairs at a time, the limit her shoulders can handle in six weeks. The current fabric is cotton terry from a 1974 Salem estate sale, and the site documents the maker, the material, and the unusually personal production process with uncommon clarity.

Lunch Through the Bee Veil

August 11’s newborn domains include a bee veil with a lockable lunch flap, a book designed to unfold over ten years, a Colombian missing-person and aid board, and a brick studio made by a dad and his 10-year-old co-founder.

This is one of 1,000 discoveries in the 2026-08-11 Domain Arrivals issue.
