Why it surfaced

The site makes its format inspectable: an example .cell is ordinary JSON, with AES-256-GCM ciphertext, recipient fingerprints, and hashes visible while the filename, file type, and plaintext remain sealed. Its unusually candid privacy copy also draws a sharp line between end-to-end encryption and anonymity, while proposing quorum access for workflows such as wire instructions and legal or newsroom submissions.
