CourseTag is an open, vendor-neutral syntax for writing structured courses in Word or Google Docs and converting them into formats such as SCORM, HTML, or xAPI.

Why it surfaced

The standard separates course content from the software that renders it: authors tag ordinary documents, while compatible tools parse modules, knowledge checks, flip cards, and callouts. Its examples are unusually concrete, and the specification is explicitly free to implement without registration.

The 240-Material Organ

August 16’s newborn domains include a 240-material perfume organ, a repeatedly saved JPEG cat, a ski tracker designed by a 15-year-old, and a searchable page claiming to contain 148,303 prescription records.

This is one of 1,000 discoveries in the 2026-08-16 Domain Arrivals issue.
