Qi is a lightweight, open-source programming language with Chinese keywords, a C interpreter, bytecode execution, and a compact runtime.

Why it surfaced

Qi began as a challenge to build a language without defaulting to English: even its keywords, punctuation, values, and “Hello, world” example use Chinese characters. The project explains its interpreter architecture in detail, reports 274 tests, and claims a codebase under 5,000 lines with a roughly 140 KB binary.
