Cascade Vault, an offline-first file locker

Why it surfaced

The project takes local encryption unusually literally: a three-cipher AES, Twofish, and Serpent cascade, with full-container HMAC authentication checked before decryption. It is also an unsigned development beta that plainly lists its limits, including no independent audit, no FIPS validation, no malware protection, and no recovery service.

Cascade Vault is a Windows-focused desktop tool that turns files and folders into authenticated .cscd vaults without accounts, cloud services, telemetry, or password recovery.
