Why it surfaced

This is more than a list of books: 31 shared readings become an atlas spanning 17 countries, with each member taking a turn to choose the next title and cook something inspired by its story. The site gives the club a distinct social shape, from its current Orhan Pamuk selection to its wonderfully ominous promise of a “small dictatorship” around the dinner table.

A five-person Rotterdam book club charts its reading life through world literature, recipes, statistics, and monthly conversation.
