A planned offline companion for British Columbia’s 178-kilometre Sunshine Coast Trail, with maps, hut and water information, trip planning, transport details, and trail updates.
Why it surfaced
This is unusually specific trail software: it uses the route’s own kilometre markers, flags water sources with dated reports, and plans hut-to-hut days around elevation as well as distance. It is still in iPhone testing, but the project has clear human stakes—a hiker walked the full route, and $1 from each eventual $9.99 download is intended for the volunteer group maintaining it.
