Why it surfaced

The site makes an unusually specific historical case: Chen Lanbin helped launch China's first government-sponsored study mission to the United States and became its first envoy there. Its central architectural idea is a recreation of the 1874 Hartford building associated with those students, turning a local cultural project into an argument about where national memory belongs.
