Why it surfaced

Art du Congo is trying to build cultural infrastructure where it says none existed: a searchable home for painters, photographers, designers, jewellers, artisans, and other creators. The site currently lists one creator, six places, and an exhibition calendar, giving the project the appealing feel of a small but purposeful institution being assembled in public.
