Why it surfaced

Multitake turns the usually fiddly business of playing along with a track into three steps: load a song, prepare the parts and click, then record. Its unusually concrete promise is that stem separation, tempo analysis, effects, and take recording happen on the device, with no uploads, queues, or cloud.

A forthcoming Mac, iPad, and iPhone recording studio that separates songs into stems, finds their tempo, and lets musicians record audio and video takes on top.
