Why it surfaced

This turns the ordinary soundscape outside a window into a personal species dashboard: detections can be filtered by periods from one hour to all time, sorted by recency or frequency, and explored through illustrations, recordings, wiki links, and eBird references. It is a charmingly specific example of ambient computing made local and alive.
