VoiceLoupe Puts the Browser’s Microphone on the Bench
A Japanese-language browser tool that measures microphone levels, inspects audio-processing settings, and produces a five-second voice-quality snapshot.
Why it surfaced
VoiceLoupe does unusually concrete browser diagnostics: it compares requested and actual settings across 16 audio constraints, reports RMS and peak levels, and says it processes the five-second sample entirely in memory without sending it to a server. The tool also warns when device names may expose a user’s name.
