Golden State Climate, Without the Climate Theater
A California climate record covering temperature, precipitation, drought, ENSO, and projections from 1895 through 2025.
Field notes
Golden State Climate uses NOAA’s seven California climate divisions to keep statewide averages from concealing regional differences, then organizes the material around historical observations, seasonal ENSO forecasting, and modelled projections. Its build process computes figures from committed data tables and checks that prose still matches the numbers before publishing. The homepage identifies NOAA/NCEI and the Climate Prediction Center as its public sources, with the historical record spanning 1895–2025 and the ENSO index beginning in 1950.
