Iara, the chatbot that listens to how you ask
A Brazilian AI project adapts digital customer support to the apparent digital-literacy level expressed in each message.
Field notes
Iara’s stated mechanism uses the vocabulary, sentence structure, and phrasing of each message to choose among guided, intermediate, and direct response paths. The guided mode confirms one step at a time, while the direct mode avoids extra turns when the request is already clear. The project says its signal is discarded between conversations rather than saved as a persistent user label. Its demonstrations show a phone view alongside a real-time panel view, and its testing account includes three relatives of team members.
