Field notes
The map combines feeds from public agencies and databases, including USGS, NASA FIRMS, NOAA, GDELT, and open outage GIS. Its controls cover both hazards and movement data: aircraft and boats appear only at higher zoom levels, while fires can load globally. Watch zones can be pinned by radius, but saving them for email alerts requires an account. The page separates observed feeds from interpretation, calling conflict reports unverified and its DEFCON reading unofficial.
