Qubicl Gives AI Agents a Computer to Keep
An open-source, local-first layer that runs durable Linux computers for AI agents through Docker.
Field notes
Qubicl organizes agent environments into four resource presets, from a headless shell with Git and durable files to a workstation with LibreOffice. Its browser option includes persistent Chromium, OCR, screenshots, and PDF inspection, while the desktop option adds XFCE, editors, document tools, and SSH. The page shows a local gateway model using MCP, OpenAPI, or Open Terminal connections, with the operator able to watch the session, fence tools, and reclaim control without discarding the agent’s existing work.
