Its navigation includes distinctions that many music databases flatten, such as singles from the pre-album era, session musicians, studios, and short-lived turning points called “moments.” The stated workflow is associative: begin with a record, then follow links through influence, genre, scene, production, and scholarship rather than proceed from a fixed beginning to an end.
