Skin of the Year Turns an iPhone Case into a Tiny Public Artwork
A public 25 × 45 image canvas where contributors buy tile blocks, upload JPGs, and collectively create one iPhone 17 Pro Max skin.
Field notes
The project divides a phone-shaped image area into 1,125 small positions arranged as a 25 × 45 grid, with contributors attaching uploads to contiguous blocks they select. Available purchases range from a single 2.8 mm tile to a 10 × 10 block, plus a designated 7 × 4 camera-area section. The site says each processed contribution appears publicly, while the eventual composite is reserved for a physical skin on the creator’s iPhone 17 Pro Max.
