MediaFlick Desktop Keeps Jellyfin Out of Your mpv
An open-source desktop Jellyfin client that launches playback in the external mpv process already configured on your machine.
Field notes
The client separates library management from playback: it maintains a local SQLite mirror for titles, summaries, genres, cast, search, collections, and calendar data, then hands the selected stream to the user’s external mpv executable. Its stated compatibility target is unusually concrete, preserving settings such as GLSL shader chains, Lua scripts, input.conf, profiles, and mpv.conf. Playback progress and resume positions are reported back to Jellyfin.
