Shared Species, a world that keeps the score
A participatory species world where a $1 claim creates a creature that moves, eats, breeds, mutates, and leaves a permanent record.
Field notes
The project models species as persistent lineages rather than static collectibles. Each turn can alter population, location, and evolutionary branches, while the species page preserves mutations, periods of disappearance, and possible returns. The homepage gives a concrete example: Limewing has 14 living members, 41 descendants, six generations, and a branch that is 8% faster but 7% hungrier. Claims are currently restricted to invited alpha testers, although public viewing is intended to require no account.
