Watchworks, a mechanical watch made of light
A photorealistic mechanical wristwatch app for iPhone, iPad, and Mac, built from rendered three-dimensional parts rather than drawn interface graphics.
Field notes
Watchworks builds its interface from rendered components rather than conventional drawn gradients. The page says the images are produced at 2400 by 2400 pixels and assembled into a turning display, with the case, bridges, chaton, setting, hands, and crown treated as separate parts. Its timing model is unusually explicit: a 28,800 A/h movement, a 4 Hz balance, eight visible second-hand steps per second, and distinct sound controls.
