BidLand.world Lets People Bid for Countries
An interactive world map turns 235 countries and territories into escalating public claims, starting at $1.
Field notes
The project uses escalating claims rather than a fixed purchase: a participant selects a country, bids above its previous amount, and receives a public display-name marker until displaced. The visible board reports every listed country or territory as claimed and shows bid counts alongside prices, including Australia at $3,600.66 after two bids and Russia at $1,336.12 after ten. A content-policy review is stated for display names and links, while the page also exposes rules, bid history, and top-bidder views.
