Cadex, an AI CAD tool that turns chat into parametric hardware
Cadex is an open-source CAD application where an AI writes validated parametric Python scripts for parts, mechanisms, and simulated robots.
Field notes
Cadex represents the document as a reproducible xscript program rather than a conventional editable CAD state: deleting the document and rerunning the script is described as producing the same model byte for byte. Its geometry layer uses OCCT and exports STEP, STL, and MJCF, while MuJoCo supplies dynamics and control. A CLI can sweep parameters without consuming additional AI turns, and the project identifies its v0.1.0 release as an experimental pre-release beta.
