Handbill: immutable links from files you own

handbill.dev Observed source
Editorial interest 86/100 Selection signal · not a rating of the site

A self-hosted command-line tool that turns HTML or Markdown files into unguessable, immutable links on a domain you control.

Landing page captured for the 2026-08-30 issue.

Field notes

Handbill computes a short SHA-256-derived hostname from the exact bytes being published, then serves the document from that hostname with immutable caching. The documented deployment combines a Cloudflare Worker with an R2 bucket and a publish token, while the CLI also supports Markdown rendering, stdin, aliases, removal, diagnostics, and JSON output. The page says repeated publication of identical bytes produces the same URL and stores nothing new.
