Hold My Notes Keeps Sticky Notes at the Edge of Your Mac

holdmynotes.app Observed source
Editorial interest 82/100 Selection signal · not a rating of the site

A macOS utility that docks colored sticky notes to the screen edge, fans them open on pointer movement, and stores them locally without an account.

Landing page captured for the 2026-08-30 issue.

Field notes

The utility represents each note as a colored edge tab, expanding the deck on pointer movement rather than requiring a window or Dock icon. Editing is persisted 250 milliseconds after typing stops, while archiving removes a note from the working deck without removing it from search. The page describes local SQLite storage with AES-GCM note-body encryption and exports to Markdown, plain text, a combined document, or a .stickies file. Optional synchronization uses one .hmnote file per note in a user-selected folder.
