The dashboard derives activity from signed check-ins rather than a number entered by the game client. Each check-in identifies an installation, build, and operating system, while deliberately omitting names, readable addresses, and player counts. Because signing keys are easy to create, the server also suppresses excess new keys arriving from a single address after an initial handful, preserving the arrivals without displaying them in the headline figures.
