RAG Interactive: Retrieval, Made Visible
An interactive lesson that traces retrieval-augmented generation from source documents and text chunks to vector search, assembled context, and an evidence-grounded answer.
Field notes
The lesson uses a small plain-text DentCare Clinic document as its knowledge base, then exposes transformations that are often hidden inside RAG libraries. Controls include 140-character chunks with 30-character overlap, quick presets, query embedding, retrieval choices, stepwise execution, and reset. The example evidence spans consultation pricing, clinician specialties, payment methods, cancellation timing, and root-canal treatment, giving the abstract pipeline concrete retrieval targets. Python excerpts accompany the document and chunking stages.
