ViewDock Keeps Your Movies on Your Server
An AGPL self-hosted library and web player for movies and TV files stored on your own disk or NAS.
Field notes
The service scans mounted folders or uploaded videos, parses common movie and episode filename patterns, and chooses direct play, remuxing, or transcoding per browser capability. Its operational model is intentionally small: one container, SQLite, FFmpeg only when required, and a cold backup made by stopping the service and copying /config. The page also describes path-based identity and offline titles without an API key, while TMDB remains optional for posters and plots.
