Interwebs Intermaps, a field guide to how the web got its look
An interactive, illustrated timeline of web-design history that maps eras, movements, vocabulary, and the visual habits of the current AI era.
Field notes
The project turns web-design history into a navigable map rather than a conventional chronology. Its eras contain movements, vocabulary, interface characteristics, and examples, while the Analyze function is described as placing a supplied website somewhere on that map. The creators also document their choices through a source list and methodology, and treat typography as material by displaying specimens in the relevant typeface when the browser can supply it.
