far: the travel map built from your own photos
An iPhone app that reads the GPS tags in your existing photos and turns them into a globe of countries, cities, and landmarks you have visited.
Field notes
The app scans an existing iPhone photo library for dates and GPS tags, then assigns locations to countries using Natural Earth boundaries. Its tracking model covers 241 countries and territories, with separate treatment for places such as Hong Kong, Macao, Liechtenstein, Vatican City, and San Marino. The visible feature set includes a 3D globe, flat map, collection percentages, country-level weather and time information, nine badges, and on-device story-card and video rendering.
