Magmalake: Iceberg, Rebuilt in Mojo
An experimental native-Mojo data-lake stack covering Apache Iceberg, Parquet, Avro, object storage, codecs, hashes, and threading.
Field notes
Magmalake organizes its implementation as twelve separate Mojo packages, with Iceberg layered over Parquet, Avro, Roaring bitmaps, and object storage. The documented storage layer names local, HTTP, S3, GCS, and Azure backends, while the Parquet component exposes Arrow C Data output. The author reports 232M rows per second for single-core Parquet reads, but also records slower writes and thread-pooled scans that lose to the comparison baseline.
