Its setting is a 2120s charter city on a strait near the equator, assembled through sea transport, climate engineering, energy, and orbital logistics. The visible chronology follows the abandoned Equatorial Tether Program into named remnants such as The Works, Drowned Works, and Orbital Gate, while the planned atlas promises homes, schools, healthcare, markets, and everyday routines alongside that infrastructure.
