Serpil Caliskan: Art, Conservation, and Second Lives
A Harpenden-based practice spanning reclaimed-wire mixed-media art, archaeological-object conservation, and children's books.
Field notes
The practice is organized around three sections—Artist, Conservator, and Author—rather than a single portfolio category. Listed materials include reclaimed copper, brass fittings and salvage, fine-gauge silver wire, rescued fibre, and hand-spun blends. The art section records four exhibition-ready pieces plus two detail views, with a maximum dimension of 90cm. Conservation work is described in terms of treatment, stabilisation, and long-term care for archaeological and historical objects; case studies are identified as forthcoming.
