Slab Lab Pottery, where every bowl keeps the hand in the clay
A North Vancouver studio selling handbuilt stoneware, including carved urchin bowls, leaf platters, whale spoon rests, pour-overs, and small keepsakes.
Field notes
Slab Lab forms white speckled stoneware from rolled sheets, lifting each sheet into shape before it stiffens instead of using a wheel. Its signature Urchin Bowl has hand-carved ribs that collect layered glaze; the featured Green Mist version is listed at 11 inches and $360 CAD. The site describes a four-week cycle involving two firings and roughly a dozen days of handling, and says each piece leaves with a note identifying its glaze and firing.
