A $749 Billion Shopping Spree
An interactive simulator lets you spend a billionaire-sized fortune on 60 real-world and ridiculous items.
Field notes
The simulator divides its catalog into six spending categories and tracks both the remaining fortune and the percentage spent. Its examples deliberately mix recognizable references with absurd endpoints: a $1.5 million Starlink satellite, a $44 billion Twitter/X purchase, and a $75 million jewelry-covered cake. A 1995 mode applies “1/1000 prices + income,” while the 2026 mode starts with the displayed $749 billion balance. Results can be printed, copied, or turned into a shareable victory image.
