The guide uses a short, sectioned walk through the place rather than a conventional destination listing. It gives coordinates, an elevation range of four to seven feet, and a sequence of geographic and social markers: three chenier ridges, roughly 300 residents, a store, three churches, and named local families. The final section connects the settlement to White Lake, nearby canals, and the seasonal waterfowl, alligator, deer, fishing, and crabbing activity that now surrounds it.
