A Windows capture, annotation, search, and recording tool that stores screenshots locally and indexes their contents without an account or cloud upload.

Landing page captured for the 2026-09-01 issue.

Field notes

The application combines ordinary file storage with a local database that records capture metadata and recognized text, allowing searches such as “tag:expenses.” Its editor keeps arrows, callouts, shapes, text, highlights, and redactions editable until export; the page says redaction also removes indexed text and cached thumbnails. Screen recordings can be trimmed, exported as GIFs, and transcribed on the machine, while tags remain embedded in image files for portability.
