WINDOW, a ground-window screen for optical and Ka links
A browser-based satellite-weather screening tool that estimates optical-clear and Ka-band ground-window hours from public ERA5 reanalysis.
Field notes
The screen treats the two pins as independent runs rather than as a comparison, allowing a second candidate location to be checked without implying a formal ranking. Its optical figures count ERA5 cell hours and can include daylight, while the optional night mode relies on sun elevation rather than photometric-night measurement. Ka results separate hours below the rain threshold from heavy-rain risk counts and expose a water-vapour hint without turning it into a link-budget score.
