CodeStatus, the menu-bar supervisor for coding agents
An open-source utility that tracks Claude Code and Codex sessions, reporting when they are busy, finished, or waiting for approval.
Field notes
The application receives lifecycle events asynchronously, filters them to a stated metadata allowlist, and passes a single NDJSON record through a Unix domain socket to its daemon. The page identifies a pure, idempotent StateReducer as the source of session state and uses kqueue process watching only for discovery and death. It also specifies a compact hook—225 KB, without Foundation—and says configuration edits preserve the original byte structure rather than reserialising settings.json.
