Lumyx, the WebRTC SFU with a black box you can open

An open-source Rust media server that measures and responds to video-call trouble while the packets are still moving.

Landing page captured for the 2026-09-02 issue.

Field notes

The forwarding layer doubles as the measurement layer: Lumyx says RTCP reports and NACK traffic are parsed inside the Rust SFU rather than collected by a separate exporter or agent. Operators can define a sustain window—for example, packet loss above 2% for 30 seconds—then send the event to Slack, PagerDuty, a webhook, or Prometheus. The visible remediation examples include forcing audio-only mode, renegotiating, and lowering a simulcast layer.
