Seize Engine: A Searchable Reconstruction of SE!ZE
An independent engine that plays the obscure SE!ZE game while documenting the rules it had to reconstruct.
Field notes
The project treats an incomplete ruleset as an explicit research variable rather than hiding it behind a finished interface. Its 57 documented fields draw on publisher material, a launch broadcast, designer statements, BoardGameGeek, photographs, other reconstructions, and four guesses. Search performance is reported separately from rules validity: depth 9 takes about a second on a laptop, while the current self-play results reflect both algorithmic work and recent bug fixes.
