SpeakCut Turns Talking-Head Takes into Directed Edits
An Android beta that removes silences and retakes, reframes the speaker, adds word-timed captions, and assembles a finished video from a talking-head recording.
Field notes
The product separates three workflows: one talking-head clip, multiple clips with user-supplied b-roll, and offline resizing or cropping. Face detection places crops, while the editing pipeline removes silence and retakes, aligns captions to whole words, and can save an accompanying .srt file. The multi-clip mode accepts up to twelve additional clips and requires an OpenAI key; the resize mode supports four aspect ratios without an AI key or watermark.
