What the names suggest

This is a catalogue of overextension disguised as optimism. AI agents, quantum audits, wellness platforms and luxury supplements all speak in the same voice: the future is imminent, purchasable and one memorable name away.

Yet the strongest countercurrent is intensely domestic. Hair salons, pressure washers, oyster festivals, burritos and repair advisors sit beside cybersuperintelligence, suggesting that speculative naming did not replace everyday enterprise so much as lend it the same glossy promise of reinvention.

The emotional register is aspirational but faintly exhausted: lighten the load, restore the body, find purpose, connect, express. With .com still claiming the overwhelming majority, the newer endings such as .today, .space and .store read less like settled identities than abandoned moods from people releasing the possibility that a clever label might become a business.
