72 Seasons: A Year in 72 Photographs
A photographic project follows Japan’s traditional calendar through 72 fleeting micro-seasons, from September 2026 to August 2027.
Field notes
The project uses Japan’s 72-part seasonal calendar as a publishing structure, moving from one short natural interval to the next through photographs and journal entries. The page currently identifies seasons 42–44, including grain ripening, whitening dew, and calling wagtails, while describing a planned first edition as a freestanding tear-off calendar and collectible photographic object. It is explicitly labeled a concept in development, with a future Kickstarter and additional pre-launch stages.
