Pire Goureye, an atlas for a Senegalese commune
A territorial data hub documenting Pire Goureye in Senegal through maps, population figures, history, infrastructure data, economic opportunities, and civic participation.
Field notes
The project combines census records, OpenStreetMap geometry, locality registers, and thematic sections into a public territorial observatory. Its homepage distinguishes official, derived, and observed figures, including a 172.35 km² area calculated from OSM geometry and 20 mapped educational establishments. The platform also exposes a significant limitation: 47 localities have not yet been geolocated, leaving 12,268 residents outside the current spatial analysis. It identifies itself as an independent pilot whose knowledge base is still being assembled.
